Bringing homestyle Lanna flavors to Bangkok’s urban table
Ongtong is a fast-growing Northern Thai food restaurant in Thailand. The owner opened his first noodle house in Chiang Mai where he learned the original homecooked Northern Thai food recipe from his grandmother. Having enjoyed immense success in its home city, Ongtong expanded to Bangkok in 2017. The growth is continuing; Ongtong now has several branches in hip neighborhoods and leading shopping malls.
The Ongtong team was aware that fast growth and expansion may cause fragmentation in brand and management, eventually affecting their bottom line. They brought the challenge to us. We helped them align their brand strategy and marketing communications, to ensure unity across their existing restaurants’ brands.
To celebrate the opening of their 7th restaurant by giving away domestic flight tickets to Chiang Mai to celebrate their roots. Thus, besides keeping their brand essence, we added a new palette to their brand to enhance the in-store vibe specifically for this campaign. The design dramatically created awareness for the campaign both online and offline and had received good feedback during the campaign period.
